Fundraising Appeal 2019

Please help to raise funds to do essential repairs to this beautiful old building.

Our Lady & St Joseph church opened May 18th, 1859 enabling Catholics in this region to worship publicly for the first time in 300 years.

It is now the oldest building still being used as a Catholic parish church in the South West Hampshire and East Dorset area.

It was founded by Joseph Weld Jnr, who was the son of the yacht designer Joseph Weld, and nephew of Cardinal Thomas Wels, the first Englishman to be made a Cardinal since the Reformation.

The architect was Joseph Hansom, the inventor of the Hansom cab who also designed the Cathedral of St Philip Howard at Arundel.

If you wish to contribute to the Fundraising Appeal outlined above, please contact the parish office on 01590 676696 and speak with Fr David or email: lymbrock@sky.com

God bless you for your generosity.
